Exhibitor information

The TARGETcourses Postgraduate Fairs are national postgraduate study and training fairs, based in Scotland and the Midlands and brought to you by GTI, publishers of the TARGETjobs products and organisers of the hugely successful postgradireland fair in Dublin. What’s more, with the strength of the TARGETjobs brand in the UK, the TARGETcourses Postgraduate Fairs will benefit from the strong association and trust that students have in TARGETjobs products.

TARGETjobs has been consistently voted by students and recruiters as the top specialist graduate careers brand in the UK.

‘Careers Services know how popular postgraduate study is for students in Scotland. We welcome a postgraduate study fair in Scotland that enables our students to see all course providers in the same place.’
Lynda Ali, Director of the Careers Service, University of Edinburgh

‘It’s great to have such a fair closer to home; despite the sudden attraction of travel to students the moment they graduate, whilst they are still at university, Manchester and London might as well be on the other side of the globe!’
Martin Pennington, Head of the Careers Service, University of Leicester

Marketing plan

During the course of the marketing campaign several different channels and methods are implemented. In particular, we use our influencers on campus ie the careers services and academic departments with whom we have excellent and often long-standing relationships. This is on top of online and offline marketing at campuses local to Edinburgh. We also offer subsidised transport to students travelling from a university outside the Edinburgh area.

Careers services

  • We send personalised e-mail in September to all heads of service in Scotland.
  • Personalised direct mail of posters and postcards send out in October to all Scottish careers services with priority to those in Edinburgh.
  • Telemarketing to regional careers services in September, October.

Academic departments

  • Personalised direct mail of posters and postcards to nearly all academic departments.
  • Followed up with two e-mails during September and October, to forward to their penultimate and final year students.
  • Telemarketing campaign to over 100 key academic departments in September and October following up mailings and requesting e-mails and links.

On campus

  • Campus representatives campaign at key campuses promoting the event and obtaining pre-registrations.
  • Campus visits by GTI staff to Edinburgh, Glasgow, Stirling, Aberdeen, Glasgow Caledonian and St Andrews.
  • Local campus activity with particular concentration of on campus marketing at Edinburgh, Napier, St Andrews and Glasgow two weeks before the event.

Cross-promotion

  • E-mails and online promotion via targetjobs.co.uk and targetcourses.co.uk during September and October.
  • Advertising within GTI publications including TARGETjobs magazines and regional Careers Service Guides running up to the fair.
